Jonathan Oxer is Founder and Technical Director of Internet Vision Technologies, and is recognised as one of the pioneers of dynamic websites.
Commencing trading in 1994 as Mission Internet, IVT was one of the first businesses to focus on managing dynamic website content using databases. With a rapidly growing reputation and client list it also became one of the first companies ever to do real-time event coverage via the Internet when a live feed was run from the floor of the national Bicycle Industry Trade Show in Sydney, Australia in 1995.
Since then Jonathan and his staff have planned, implemented and managed websites, intranets and extranets for companies ranging from tiny backyard businesses to multinational corporations. His clients span many countries, including Australia, Canada, Germany, New Zealand and the United States.
Jonathan is a Debian GNU/Linux developer, and has convened the Debian Miniconf in a different city every year since 2003 in association with linux.conf.au.
He has also spoken on various Internet-related topics at dozens of conferences and seminars around the world.
He has been a regular contributor to the Australian Linux magazine linmagau with a column titled The Debian Universe, is the author of How To Build A Website And Stay Sane and Ubuntu Hacks, and is already hard at work on his next three books.
Jonathan lives in Melbourne, Australia with his wife, daughter and son.
